There are internship and volunteer opportunities for animal lovers who are not necessarily vets or conservationists!

Volunteer Camille is an artist who is repainting and touching up some of the lovely artwork here at Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center. Some of our signs tell guests not to feed our inhabitants, and some artwork depicts what to do if someone tries to sell you a wild animal.

We also have an impressive collage of every bird native to Costa Rica. The collage features hundreds of life-size images and is near the farm animals and elder macaws.

Of course, one of our most colorful pieces of artwork is our Freedom Bus! The now-retired bus helped bring hundreds of animals to Bosque Escondido, and now visitors can learn about the bus and our macaw breeding program.

All of our artwork requires care and maintenance. That is where artists like Camille come in.

Here are some before and after shots of Camille’s work on the bus:

After Some Paint And A Little Redecorating:

The yellows are more yellow, the greens more clear, and I think the animals even look happier!

Thank you, Camille, for helping keep Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center educational and engaging with this colorful artwork…and we promise the sloth isn’t speeding (though the animals are in a rush to get to the forest on The Road To Freedom)!
